The main Caterpillar forklift categories are electric counterbalanced, internal combustion cushion tire, internal combustion pneumatic tire, and hand pallet. Class I electric counterbalanced lift trucks are categorized by pneumatic tire lift capacities of 2,500 to 4,000 pounds, 3,000 to 4,000 pounds, 5,000 to 6,000 pounds, and 7,000 to 10,000 pounds, as well as 3,000 to 6,500 pound cushion tire vehicles. Class IV internal combustion cushion tire vehicles have lift capacities from 3,000 to 6,500 pounds, 7,000 to 15,500 pounds, and 8,000 to 15,500 pounds. Class V internal combustion pneumatic tire vehicles lift from 3,000 to 36,000 pounds, and hand pallet jacks lift 5,500 pounds on average.
